A symbolic start for the European pilgrimage will take place in May 2022 in Oslo, Norway.
Some pilgrims will set out from there via Sweden and Denmark to Germany.
Arrival is planned for 5 June 2022 in Flensburg.
The official start and meeting point will be in Stade on 18 June 2022. A pilgrimage symposium will take place there, to which everyone is cordially invited.
The pilgrims will walk the 1st stage from Stade to Harsefeld on 19 June 2022.
The arrival in Rome is planned for 13 October 2022.

Registration for the German part of the walk is possible via the online form below. Please let us know which section you would like to join us on pilgrimage.
Please note that registration for the pilgrimage with overnight stay is possible up to a maximum of 10 days before the start of the stage. After that, registration is only possible on request.

After a good breakfast and a morning ritual, we leave the accommodation. We set off on the appropriate stage of the day.
The daily activities (devotions, visits, breaks, singing…) depend on the planning by the guide for the corresponding stage. This may vary from day to day. Lunch will tend to be smaller so that hunger is all the greater in the evening.

The daily routes are between 10 – 30 kilometres long and vary greatly in their demands (metres in altitude, condition of the paths, …).
Participation in the pilgrimage is the responsibility of each pilgrim in relation to his or her state of health and fitness.

The overnight stays will be at “pilgrim level”. In most cases, these will be youth hostels, monasteries, mass accommodation in church parishes, … and the like. The accommodation depends on the local conditions and the size of the group. This is organised by the local section leaders.
In mass accommodation, at least two different rooms (men and women separately) are offered if possible. However, we cannot always promise this. Where no mass accommodation, youth hostel or similar is possible, cheap rooms in hotels can also be booked. It cannot be assumed that a shower facility will be available every evening/morning.
A sleeping mat/air mattress and a sleeping bag are necessary in the mass accommodation. There are not always enough mattresses available for all participants in the accommodation.
Each participant bears the costs of accommodation on site.
If you are running for several days, we assume that you will use the accommodation organised by us. If this is not the case, you will have to arrange your own accommodation and any necessary transfers to the accommodation yourself.

As a rule, all participants eat together. However, this is not a must and can be arranged individually by everyone. Each participant is responsible for their own meals in consultation with the group. The costs for this are borne by each participant. There will be opportunities to buy food in a supermarket along the way.
A jointly prepared evening meal or a stop at a restaurant will be arranged within the group. Here, too, everyone is responsible for the costs on site.

For the “”large”” luggage, an escort vehicle will be available from stage location to stage location. However, we cannot guarantee this for the entire route. Please contact the named contact person for more information.
If a vehicle is provided, the costs incurred will be charged to each participant as a lump sum. How much this will be will vary from section to section.
The transport vehicle can only be used by participants as a means of transport for their own person in exceptional cases (e.g. illness).

There are no costs for the participants for the organisation and registration.
All costs, such as accommodation, food and luggage transport, if applicable, will be borne by all participants on site.
